Superintendents honored at MASA Conference

Superintendents Laura Lisiscki (Willow Run Community Schools) and Dedrick Martin (Ypsilanti Public Schools) were recognized at the Michigan Association of School Administrators (MASA) January 2013 conference for their Courageous Leadership in leading their districts through the consolidation process. The two districts will become one, unified district beginning July 1, 2013.

Principal/Teacher staff positions

Internal candidates selected for YCS teaching and principal positions are expected to be announced by the end of April 2013. The interview process is currently underway.

Superintendent Search Process

The WISD Board of Education voted unanimously Feb. 27, 2013 to assign board leadership to work with the WRCS-YPS board leadership on details related to contracting with WISD for Superintendent services. If the details are agreeable to both boards, the WISD board expects to vote on the recommendation March 27, 2013.

Teacher-Principal Commitment presentations

Presentations made to the Board of Education, Thursday Feb. 28, 2013 included an overview presentation, teacher/principal commitments, and recommendation for teacher/principal selection process with timeline. (Appendix F).
